Bashen Frans Mabusela known as King Bash from Temba in Hammanskraal won the Best coach award at the recent Hammanskraal Sports Awards.
Currently head coach of Hamitown Ladies FC, Mabusela has enjoyed life as coach and his motivated to achieve more. His football coaching journey started in October 2011 at Itireleng Primary School where he was head coach for both boys and girls football teams.
During his time at the school Mabusela won the Cluster 7 championship with both the under 11 and 13 boys/girls team. He revealed in an exclusive interview with Tshwane Bulletin Newspaper that starting his own football club has always been his dream.
“Establishing a local football team was not easy but am glad that I’ve managed to fulfill the dream that I had and help young kids to avoid being tempted to drugs and other bad substances.”
Being the youngest of the coaches nominated in the best coach category award with top coaches, Mabusela never thought his name will be called forward and is thankful for all the support and recognition shown to him.
“Winning the best coach award was the last thing on my mind as I was competing with the best coaches in Hammanskraal of which some are former development coaches and mentors of the game.”
His team Hamitown Ladies FC walked away with the best team award.
Mabusela thanked the Hammanskraal sports awards for the recognition and thrives on continuing to make a difference in the community by keeping kids off the streets.
Mabusela encourages young upcoming coaches to not give up on their dreams and work hard.
