Hamitown Ladies FC has been crowned the champions of the Sports Against Crime tournament held in Hammanskraal at Temba stadium. Hamitown ladies FC defeated Bakwena Ladies FC 1-0 in the final.

Head coach Bashen Mabusela was pleased with the performance of the team throughout the tournament. ” Winning the tournament is a good achievement for the team since the team is on a zero budget “. Coming into the tournament as favourites , Mabusela revealed that reaching the final wasn’t easy as every team looked to knock them out of the tournament. Hamitown Ladies FC took on Bakwena Ladies FC in what was a tough final. Both teams showed their attacking prowess but it was Gomolemo Ramashala’s goal that sealed the win for Hamitown Ladies FC. Mabusela further revealed that the unavailability of some of his players due to school commitments might hamper the team’s pre-season plans but insisted that programmes are being put in place to accommodate the affected players.

He further thanked the players for their commitment and dedication to the pitch. ” As a coach, I am proud of the players for always trying to do the right thing on and off the field”.
