Established in 2019 , Touchline Arena is a company that operates with 5-a-side soccer leagues and tournaments in townships. The organisation plans to host the Shoeshine and Piano 5 aside tournament on the 07th of August 2022 in Ga Rankuwa zone 1.
The tournament offers players a platform to showcase their skills. In an interview with Tshwane Bulletin founder and managing director of the company, Lesego Mohuba revealed that he did not expect people to like the idea of hosting these tournaments when they first launched it.
“The players asked us to host these tournaments more often hence we decided to do it monthly”.
He further revealed the challenge faced in preparation for this tournament.
“Preparing for these tournaments has its challenges. ” We don’t get much support from the city of Tshwane as the facility we use is in bad condition”.
Despite the lack of support from the municipality Mohuba thanked Hollywood bets and score energy drink for laying a helping hand to make the tournament a reality.
Mohuba anticipates a high turnout of teams in the tournament as 32 teams will battle it out for the R1500 prize. Second place finishers will receive R700.
