Soshanguve block AA-based side Soshanguve United FC won the inaugural Christmas in July tournament held at Vukani Primary school ground. Soshanguve United FC defeated Thandi Young stars FC 3-0 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Playing against the highest scoring team in the tournament, Coach Bafana Maseko praised his players for managing the game well. “The boys were determined to go all the way and win, they gave their all and left everything on the pitch”.

Sosh United FC for most of the game was in control but was unable to seal victory inside 90 minutes of play conceding a late goal. Despite conceding the late goal, Maseko praised his players for executing the tactics well on the day.

 Sosh United FC’s high pressing game made it difficult for Thandi Young stars FC to build up from the back forcing them into errors. Maseko expressed his gratitude to the community for the overwhelming support on the day. Sanitary pads, toiletries and school shoes were donated on the final day of the tournament.
