Soshanguve Block AA-based side Soshanguve United FC held the club’s awards ceremony this past Sunday. Players were rewarded for their efforts in the recent 2021/22 season. It’s been an overall good season for the club with both the under-13 and 15 junior teams topping the league log standings and the under-17 team finishing 4th.

 It was a special moment for players to celebrate what’s been an incredible season with their families. Junior division coach Bafana Maseko was pleased with the attendance of the player’s parents and their support throughout the season. “It was truly special to see most of the parents supporting these boys, we see them most of the time in our league games, and seeing them at the ceremony was truly special “. The club introduced the fan of the year award this year recognising fans for their support throughout the season.

Junior division coach Bafana Maseko was pleased with the attendance

Maseko revealed that the club saw it important to engage with fans and show appreciation. Maseko’s message to the winners at the end of the ceremony was, ” Congratulations to all the winners, they have done well throughout the season, and may they continue working hard and improving ” he concluded.

 Here are the players who walked away with accolades. Under 13 players of the year: Sfiso Radebe. Top goalscorer:

Thapelo Pale (28 goals)

Under 15 player of the year: Paballo Langa

Top goalscorer: Thato Baloyi (24 goals )

Under 17 player of the year: Ikaneng Kgosimore

Top goalscorer: Rehoabetswe Moshokwa ( 23 goals)

Promotion player of the year: Karabo Mashego

Top goalscorer: Karabo Mathe (17 goals)

Most improved players: Blake Mouton & Thabiso Boshomane

Young player of the year: Sphiwe Ntuli
