It was a Sporting weekend that lived up to expectations as we were treated to some mouth-watering actions. Despite the hot humid conditions throughout the weekend, players ran their socks off and fans were treated to an entertaining weekend of some football action.
The Soshanguve Derby game in the Tshwane SAB Regional league took place at Giant stadium Sunday afternoon when newbies Happy Swallows FC went head to head with log leaders Mike One FC. As expected the game started with both sides playing cautiously. It was a tactical battle between the two benches and it was who made the lesser mistakes to win the game.
Managing to contain Mike One’s fluid attack for most parts of the game, the Sosha Birds switched off at a critical stage of the game and were punished for a defensive mistake that led to the only goal of the game. Mike One FC solidified the top spot on the log with the win and remains unbeaten in 8 games. Meanwhile, the struggle for three points continues for Happy Swallows who are still winless and lie bottom of the log. Another weekend another change on top of the log in the GALFA men’s promotional league.
Tiger Boys FC moved to first place on the log following a 2-0 win over Flying Hawks FC in top of a table clash. Meanwhile, All Stars FC dropped to second place as they were handed their first defeat of the season losing 1-0 to Lorna Fast XI FC
