Soshanguve Local Football Association conducted the draw for the 2023 Takalani Top 32 tournament this past week. Coaches and owners of various clubs attended the draw.
The Takalani Top 32 tournament consists of 32 teams with 16 coming from the SOLFA Super League and the other 16 from the promotional league. It’s the tournament’s second edition as Nkadimeng FC walked away from last year’s tournament defeating Blue Birds FC 4-0 in the final.
Secretary of the Soshanguve Local Football Association Sipho Makobe expressed his excitement about this year’s tournament during the draw.

The draw for the SOLFA Takalani tournament has been released
“ The tournament is our Nedbank Cup Super League and promotional clubs are playing for the title. The second edition promises fireworks and a chance for a promotional club to lift the trophy.
The tournament is fully sponsored by the association’s President Mr Mike Takalani Mnisi.
He dreams of seeing young talent emerge in top professional leagues. Before the draw announcement, there was much emphasis on the importance of this tournament on grassroots football development, especially in Soshanguve. Makobe revealed the association’s aims through the tournament to improve that aspect.
“ We aim to improve hosting our games professionally, especially in promotional clubs. The tournament exposes our promotional and super league players to Regional and ABC Motsepe foundation clubs as we also invited a few clubs”.
Defending Champions Nkadimeng FC’s Captain Maestro handed over the trophy back with the stage set for another thrilling tournament. Over the Easter weekend, games will be held at Soshanguve in a normal home and away format.
