Dr. Reuben Mamatsinya, a passionate soccer fanatic who helped local sports reach new heights before becoming a director at Hallelujah Zebra Force, passed away.
As a believer in local football and a champion of women in sports, Dr. Mamatsinya was a household name in the local sports fraternity.
Joseph Sello Ramabya confirms Dr. Reuben Mamatsinya’s death.
Ramabya said he was “deeply saddened” by Mamatsinya’s death and mentioned that in addition to his sporting achievements, he possessed “extraordinary human qualities.”
Dr. Mamatsinya was Ramabya’s mentor and father.” I met Moruti Perempi through football as he believed in traveling to soccer fields to preach.”
“From Moruti Mamatsinya, I have learned that sharing makes you care,” Ramabya asserts.
“We have lost many humble, dedicated Football servants in the past few years but this one hurts the most for the Hallelujah Zebra Force family. We love Dr. Mamatsinya” said Ramabya.
Mamatsinya also sponsored the Mabopane local football association’s women’s promotion league.
In 2020, Dr. Mamatsinya established the Reuben Mamatsinya Foundation to sponsor women’s football leagues in Tshwane.
He has produced Banyana players, Maude Khumalo and Tina Lekalakala, National League players, and coaches.
